I am not a Jazz connoisseur, most of the Jazz artists I know are amongst the most famous ones, Donal Byrd, Miles Davis, John Coltrane…Yet, as an early 90s Hip Hop fan, I've come to realize how much of a legacy this music is giving. There is a sense of freedom and yet instant melodic swing that strikes one listening to jazz music, and I wanted to give my take on this.
My first choice was John Coltrane's A Love Supreme because it embodies everything I want to hear whenever I feel like resting. I had to keep it simple therefore I choose to illustrate the saxophone that Coltrane used, a Mark VI tenor crafted by Henri Selmer Paris, with a few frames and text reminiscing of the always graphic-looking covers that illustrate jazz LPs.
I recently started playing with my original design and got to like this one with the off-white background and black - blue colors a little more, felt like it looked a bit more like a Coltrane design. In all cases the previous one (last picture) is still available. Any one wanting to buy this design, please just let me know which color scheme you're interested by.
