Allright so this will be the first on a new series I'll be doing on pop songs (I use the term pop loosely though, this will include, as for this one, folk, electro and other genres, but let's say easy-listening songs). Next will probably be the Rifle Spiral by The Shins.
Sometimes songs are not that easy to illustrate, and you have to go to some of the visuals the band's used in theirs videos, artworks on LPs and EPs, live aesthetics etc…
For this one I'd always figure out that a square enters perfectly a rectangle, perfectly in the sense that , depending on the size of the rectangle of course, you can make a 1 third/ 2 thirds composition (2 thirds 1 third also works of course) as it makes what is called the Golden Number in arts. So it became obvious that I could easily work something very graphic by using the Deep Cuts LP's art.
consisting of many bold angular lines, I choose to repeat that beautifully put together piece and add another one, coming out of the square, in the continuing shading of colors, making it "one for you".
