Now whenever I'm working on a new print I like to look after concepts that make sense, and for that one I'm pretty stoked on how everything assembled.
In the mid/ late 90s Nike changed the way their ads looked and for a small dozens of advertisings they opted for a side view of the sneaker with a red swoosh on the right and a 1-800 phone number at the bottom. This was around the time the Nike Air Darwin (and Darwin Lows) released, with Dennis Rodman playing for the Spurs highly supporting the first Nike sneaker with a reversed Swoosh. The Darwins sort of became his first pro shoe.
Now we all know Dennis Rodman for his crazy stunts on and off the court, but also for his memorable dyed hair. Now if you add that to the fact that he hung out a lot with Madonna, whose 1990 tour was named Blond Ambition, you've got all the ingredients for this Nike advert with a special, blond colorway.
