I have nothing but love for Kanye's sneakers designs while on Nike, and just like his sneaker game was definitely the best when Yeezy starting making a buzz (wearing Jordan VIs, Atmos am1s etc…), the designs he came up with for Nike are some of the most reminiscent of that 90s glorious basketball crazyness era. Think about the Foamposites, the Ndestrukts etc…
For me to make a print of the Yeezy 2s just made perfect sense as it definitely clicked with that mid-90s, 1-800 SOMETHING era of Nike advertising. I just needed to find the right 1-800 title, thought of "Harder, Faster, Stronger", felt like I wanted to touch more of the persona, went with "Big Ego" but then it struck me how "Can't tell me nothing" was just a lot more Kanye.
