I've been asked so many times to do an MPC2000 print, and actually quite a few times too people came at me about doing something on Damu The Fudgemunk. I love Damu The Fudgemunk, his music goes way beyond Hip Hop yet everything about it breathes Hip Hop music, in its most qualitative manner. His LPs, wether instrumentals or collaborative works with the likes of Raw Poetic and others are straight up bangers.
So I when I discovered the videos of him playing beats in Washington Square Park it was an immediate decision to make this print, following the prints I'd done before on DJ Premier using their favorites tools/ machines. Now for this one I wanted the MPC to blow like a trumpet, with pads blowin too as hit like a piano, while distortions hapen all around just like music does.
