Last week I produced a portrait of 011 (Eleven) from Stranger Things with no knowing of how I was going to have it, and ended up loving the result so much it made me want to try it again on another portrait. I'd wanted to do something about Spike Jonze's movie Her for a while, and with Joaquim Phoenix on the original poster I thought the 2 would make a nice little series, especially with the contrasting background colors.
I only saw Her when it came out at the theater but loved how the future imagined there seemed very realistic/ probable, mingling yet with our present from which we can totally believe that what happens in Her is what's next to happen on our generation.
