I'm a huge Jerry Seinfeld, that man has made me laugh like no other comedian, so it was with great joy that I started watching Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee a few years back, and its following on Netflix more recently.
If you're not acquainted to the series, it goes like this : Jerry Seinfeld picks up a car, very often a very rare car, probably from a collector's garage, in a rare color too, and drives to pick up a comedian/ friend he's chosen, and then they go and have coffee together for a little chat. In the meantime Jerry describes the car, its specs as well as its history.
Watching it while working it occurred to me that I could actually made my own series influenced by that, and from then I started Rappers In Cars Getting 40oz, which will probably be centered around west coast 90s rappers/ crews, but not just that.
For the 1st print of the series I choose Ice Cube & the 1964 Chevrolet Impala convertible SS, in green candy paint with white interior. This is the car that Ice Cube drives in the video for "Today Was A Good Day".
I made Cube pose in front of the Compton Center, and since the video came out around the of the movie "Boyz N The Hood" (in which Cube was also starring), I had a poster of the movie in it too.
