The glory days (or actually just the days…) of Rawkus Records weren't that long, once the label was bought by Universal it simply just wasn't the same. But before that, the label just overtook the New-York underground Hip Hop scene. Every artist emerging from the label, from Talib Kweli & Mos Def to Company Flow and already established ones (Pharoahe Monch, RA The Rugged Man) were just mingling on these mixtapes like they had always been in the same family.
I would say the 3rd mixtape was really of lower quality. But it still finished the trilogy and was still decent.
As it actually happens (unfortunately), these 3 bombs (one for each volume) were decorated by the DJs mixing the projects.
