If like me you were already a fan of Smif-N-Wessun around 2000, you probably heard the track "Super Brooklyn" when it came out on a very small label called Yosumi, on the album called "Game Over".
On this rare compilation a lot of tracks used samples from video games and cartoons (Street Fighter, The Simpsons etc…) and in the present case the theme from the Super Mario Bros games was used along with its sound effects.
And then, I'm a long time fan of Smif-N-Wessun and always wanted to do an artwork about a track of theirs, but it took a while for me to realize how everything in this track applied beautifully to a print. And thus our heroes are here crossing the Brooklyn Bridge, dressed in Timz'N Hoodz, throwing PNC-marked (Partners N Crime) missiles at koopas wearing fitted hats instead of their shells while a P! bonus brick sets free a 1UP-mushroom while wearing a beanie (RIP Sean Price).
Oh yeah, the gold coins form the BK initials ;)
