Although Souls Of Mischief are recognized for their 93 'till Infinity track, and legitimately so, every die hard fan will agree that close to '93 comes Cab Fare. The jazzy flute taken from the sitcom Taxi, the lyrics/ drama occurring, the 90s smooth vibe, this track is a total must. The fact that it couldn't be on any record because the theme song sampled from Taxi couldn't clear somehow makes it even cooler.
The song being a total masterpiece of storytelling, I wanted to put the whole song in there and I think I'm close if not complete with it. Keep in mind that A-Plus, the the cab driver, talks about piling in 9-10 skinz at a time and you've got yourself a crowd in there…: from left to right :
1) A-Plus counting money 2) Girl entering cab 3) Del the Funkee Homosapien playing video games on portable device while 4) Casual helping him with tips 5) Tajai hiding from the thugs eyeing his garments 6 (bottom)) Opio fleeing from 7) Phesto (other cab driver) just got himself into a rose bush 8) blind man holding on tight to not "let the dog off his leash" while 9) Too Short going for his wallet and 10) & 11) E-40 and Rappin-4-Tay make the thugs crew complete (Too Short, E-40 and Rappin-4-Tay being Oakland's gangsta rappers).
